Finding out what’s on offer in Wythenshawe is now as quick as a click of a mouse thanks to a new web site.
Wythit.com has been completely revamped to make it clearer, brighter and faster. Crucially it is now jam-packed with information about almost all aspects of the area.
Whether you are looking for a job, a course to boost your skills, contact details for your local councillor or even to take up morris dancing, wythit.com will point you in the right direction. There is also a section dedicated to everything that’s going on at the dynamic Forum, and quick links to an array of local and national web sites.
The new-look web site has attracted around 1,200 visitors a week since going live. It will be officially launched on Friday, 19 November from 2pm to 6pm at Wythenshawe Forum. Demonstrations will showcase the new web site using wall projections and interactive screens and Wythenshawe FM will be broadcasting live from the event.
Councillor Paul Andrews, chairman of Wythenshawe Area Committee, said: “There’s a tremendous amount of good work going on in Wythenshawe as the area is regenerated. Wythit.com is a great resource which will provide a gateway for people to access the improved services and opportunities which are on offer.”
The new-look web site has been funded through the Neighbourhood Renewal Fund and European Regional Development Fund. It was developed by the Wythenshawe Regeneration Team and Manchester Digital Development Agency in partnership with other organisations in the Wythenshawe using the expertise of TT360 Limited, a Manchester-based company which specialises in portals and web sites for public sector organisations.
Features on the web site include a job board, learning opportunities board, events listings, discussion forums and a comprehensive Wythenshawe directory. Forthcoming features include interactive maps showing where Wythenshawe services are located, and local music and video content.
